Don’t you love the flow of a watercolor? I do, and it is the process and expectations of creating a painting that keeps me coming back!
For me there is magic in the drama of the lights and shadows. My plein air painting has taught me a lot about seeing those contrasts so that I can try and get them to appear bit by bit, layer by layer, and with spontaneity. Hopefully a picture will be realized that gets one to turn and look again.
